After courageously taking on the challenges of both advanced kidney and heart disease for over a year, Alfred passed away peacefully at Richmond Hospital at the age of 85, with his loving, devoted family by his side. His was definitely a life well lived. Alfred was born in Vancouver where he met and married his lifelong sweetheart Shirley (PeeWee), over 64 years ago. Alfred enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a tug boat captain with Seaspan, and was well known and respected for his skills. Over his lifetime he was also a beloved family member (husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin), a loyal and fun loving friend, a mentor to many, and an inspiration to us all. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered. Survived by his loving wife Shirley; sons Jim (Colleen), David (Debbie), Danny (Deanna); grandchildren Paul (Bridget), Stephanie (Stephan), Michelle, Kailey (Paul), and Brandyn; great- grandchildren Austin, Landon and Isabella. Predeceased by his brother Bob (Lexi) and survived by his sister Elizabeth of Toronto (Stan), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and also his faithful cat Misty. No service as per his request.
